Have you ever watched a sky full of ducks? Have you ever seen your
backyard lit up by fireflies? When animals get together, they can
be quite a sight. In fact, we're much more likely to notice animals
when lots of them gather in one spot. Some animals spend their whole
lives as part of a group. Others get together at certain times of
year, to have families or find new homes. Many animals only join others
to feed or rest. Getting together is helpful in many ways. Animals
are safer in groups. They have an easier time finding food. They have
a better chance of finding a mate. And they may be better able to
defend themselves.
